Clutch
Here's the deal...
Bought a used Clutchspecialties 6 puck unsprung clutch, got a really good deal on it. The only thing that has me worried is the fact that there's just a 1/16th of an inch left above the rivets on the disc, which is the stock limit. The rest of the kit however, is all good, pressure plate looks fine, yadda yadda. If I'm looking to hold 250 ft-lb of torque, should I run the 6 puck, or can I get away with running the stock disc/any other options? |
Re: Clutch
Stock disc is a no go.Got a picture? Also have you asked LSD if you can get a replacement disc?

Re: Clutch
I know 6-puck's are pretty close to the rivets as it is, get us a picture to help ya out more

Re: Clutch
Well, I got on the horn with LSD motorsports, turns out that 6 pucks only have about 1/8th of an inch material stock, the disc I've got is a little over half gone if that's the case.
Picked up a Stg 2 full street disc from LSD just for peace of mind + he tells me it will be easier to drive and last longer, and with the HD pressure plate, still hold as much power. |
Re: Clutch
The HD pressure plate that clutch specialties sells isnt that great at all, I've had problems with them slipping around 275whp after a few rippers, same with a few of my friends... just a heads up.

Re: Clutch
Balls.
Recommendations then? I'll only be pushing 250WHP in the spring, but it'd be nice not to have to take it easy on the car... |
