clunking noise??? from motor replaced alot. of stuff.

i have this noise coming from my motor.. it sounds like a rod and or a valve but i am not sure.. i thought it was my dizzy so i bought one and replaced it and it still did it.. when i rev the motor to about 4 grand or five the car wil cut off.. so then i checked the timing belt and it was really loose so i replaced that as well and it still does it.. when i push in the clutch the noise kinda depresses and is not as bad but then i release it it picks up the same rithyme when i rev the motor the sound carry's and i dont kno what to do.. hey jeff if you have a number i can call u on to explain e-mail me at "iqiti@aol.com"... i would greatly appreciate it.. i dont know what to do next...thank you again..

there are a lot of things that could be wrong with your car..you could have a bent valve, bent rod, jacked up tranny, worn rod bearings,...your cars fucked and its gonna be expensive..ethier take to it to a shop and get it checked out..or take it apart..

my tranny is kinda messed up but i didnt think it would be that cuz it cuts off at 4grand and i didnt think that would make it happen...but i am going to take the motor apart but i am kinda scared cuz i dont know if it will be worth it but i think it will but mi dunno.. if it is a rod and or valve i should be able to just replace it then everything should be fine??? i think it should unles the piston marked up the walls then i should be able to get it bored or somthing right?

is it a hard knocking noise? Open up your hood and listen for it... find if its coming from the engine or the tranny. Use your butterfly to rev the engine while you're on the outside.

clutch chatter?

the clutch seems to be fine i looked at it.. now my trannyis going bad... but i listened to the noise out side of the car it sounds like it is coming from the crank shaft. i dropped my oil pan but did not see anything wrong that i could see that is but. i think it is a crank shaft bearing. if it was my tranny and i rev'd up to 4'grand would it the car cut off one me? i am not sure of that. when i press the clutch in it is taking the weight of of the crank shaft and the noise is not as bad i let off the clutch and the noise is loud again. so i am not sure.

if its in the tranny the rattling would more or less be your throw out bearing...if its a in the crankshaft it might be a rod bearing....either its out and scraping or its going out....either way....bad

The noise from a tranny, is most likely an input shaft bearing, as for the no revving past 4 grand, i'd say timing almost for sure...If it revs up but just has no balls, then i'd say ur motor is probably cooked, triple check ur timing again, and remove the #1 spark plug, put a small dowell on the cylinder and turn it till it's at it's highest point, then make sure ur cam is lined up with the marks...

try and adjust your valves?

easiest way to tell... if you engage the clutch does it go away?

I am betting you spun a bearing like I did and you're actually hearing the part of the bearing that threads to the connecting rod tap against itself every time the piston comes down.

Don't drive the car until you figure it out exactly, you may have to pull your oil pan, and see if there is any damage to your bearings... get it all drained out, and pull on the bearing cases see if they come loose.
