Default charging problems

ok i been having problems with my car lately the car lights gets dim and car runs for a while and will shut off its so dim i can`t even see my headlights barely, i thougth it was the alternator but i`ve already got it tested twice to a autopart store and my self first it acted up not putting up voltage which i thought it was the tensioner so i fixed that it ran fine then started it back up again and ran fine for a couple of minutes then everything went dim and my tach stop operating like it did before so i drove it home to see whats wrong with it, everything looks fine. one thing i noticed when i check was the alternater was really hot i touched the pulley and burned my self also the belt is basiclly wearing out fast because of the heat i`m guessing it could be a bad ground if not then i couldn`t think of anything else i was wondering what do you guys think?

check the battery, check the ground, check the battery terminals. check the cables. check that kinda stuff.. if your alternator is good.

I had an eclipse that was doing the same ----.... it would start to get hot and ---- would start getting dim.. and just running on the pure battery..... It would cool down and run fine.... then one day it just ate ---- on the freeway and seized up.... got a new one and ---- was fine..... PS.... i had it tested twice and they said it was fine too what a bunch of liars they turned out to be...
