Changing from OBD2 to OBD1
This has prolly been talked about a bigillion times, but I was in the search, but yeah, needle in a hay stack. Anyways, to solve my cat problems and get ready for boost (late winter early spring) i'm going to go OBD1, I was told that would be a better decision and benefit me with FI. ANYWAYS...I know I need an obd2 to obd1 harness and an obd1 ecu (i think it was the EX's before 96?) Is there anything else I need other than that? One of the main reasons i wanna do this is to get rid of my o2 sensor in the cat and just punch that fucker out.

Re:Changing from OBD2 to OBD1
i believe thats all you need. and ur 2nd o2 sensor you dont need to get rid of, its jus kinda disabled from the obd1 conversion so go ahead and punch the bitch out... or better yet jus dont run one.

Re:Changing from OBD2 to OBD1
Yeah I have doen this conversion and you just unplug the sensor. Come to think of it, I tun closed loop disabled so I don't use the one left either.

Re:Changing from OBD2 to OBD1
you can but you don't need to, jus unplug it and let it dangle.

Re:Changing from OBD2 to OBD1
you can do whatever you want with it, the ecu won't be looking for it, you can leave it plugged in, unplug it and let the wires hang, leave it plugged in and let it dangle, burn it in or out of the cat, cover it in ---- and leave it on your neighbors porch, whatever you want. the easiest thing to do is nothing at all, and leave it hooked up and plugged in, you don't have to touch it at all if you don't want.

LOL. it's only 200 bucks at the most to convert to obd1, 78 bucks for a conversion harness from jdmshit.com, and 120 bucks for a chipped ecu from me ;) |
