CEL's: Electrical Load Detector, primary & secondary o2 sensor heater.

Mods: if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it.

Engine: y7 block with y8 head (mini-me)

I'm throwing three codes: 20, 41, and 65 which were the ones mentioned in the title. My alternator fuse (#15 under dash fuse box) keeps blowing, which is probably the cause of these codes. I can put in a new fuse and reset the ECU, but after about 10-15 seconds of driving, it blows and the CEL comes back on. Also, my dash lights as well as my headlights are beginnging to dim and my speedometer is also acting really odd. It just jumps around from 0-120mph VERY randomly and sometimes stays at 0 (when I'm rolling). VSS is in good condition and wired properly.

I've tried to check all the wire's I could.. I've also checked all the ground wires and sanded them down, so they're properly connection.

What could be wrong here? I dont think it's my battery or my alternator because i've been driving around for about a month with these codes... Is the ELD affecting my sensor's or are they taking a ---- on me too?

Any suggestions on how to fix these problems? Thanks.

have ur alternator check.. it sounds to me that it could be bad... that and check ur grounds... always double check ur grounds..

I'm thinking my alternator should be ok.. I mean I've been driving around for a month like this. If the alternator was bad, wouldn't it drain my batter?

Also, I've already checkd my grounds and sanded them down, which was already mentioned.

when the fuse blows, your alternator will not provide current to run the car, and your battery will run low. if your alternator has pooped, which it has, it will blow the fuse, and your dash lights, head lights, etc, will run off of the battery, and drain it.

try it. you'll see.

the diode in your alternator could be going out, and only charging at times. The blown fuse sounds like a ground fault, or an overcharging alt. I would just go to like autozone or something and get it tested. This kinda sounds like what happened to me after I relocated my batt to the hatch with too small of a gauge of wire. dont just check the connections of the wire, and then go check the continuity of the wires, also flex them around when you are testing them to see if they are flakey.

^Thanks.. I'll head to autozone today and get the alt checked out.
