an o2 sensor will still throw a code if it's in a gutted cat. my suggestion would be to find out how the o2 sim is suppose to be wired up, i know they work fine, just not sure how to wire one up. if you don't get it figured out by testing, just throw your stock cat back on with the o2, and it will be fine. be sure to reset the ecu.

Ah but thats what leads me to belive that the ecu is the problem because i put the stock exuast off of a 98 civic back on with the rear o2 and reset the ecu and it popped back on in about 6 seconds. everyone i talked to said that the cel should take a few hours maybe a few days to comeback on. The sim is pretty simple. if it will help i bought it from http://www.o2simulator.com it has the wiring diagram righ tthere on the page

Wiring as follow..Sim( white=signal) (red= Power +12) ( Black = Ground)

car side ( white/red stripe = signal) (red/yellow stripe= Ground) (Black/yellow stripe=heater wire pos)
(black/white stripe= heater grnd)

(signal white wire goes to wht/red) (red power goes to black/yellow stripe) (black ground goes to red/yellow stripe. ) signal wire has to be cut which i did and it is supposed to use the o2 sensor for the heater wire. this is a brand new o2 sensor. and help will be greatly appreciated if you are in the nc area clsoe to fayetteville and will help i will provide the beer.

i need help.
thanks

Re:CEL 98 civic

More or less thats how it is. I just wired it how they said to wire it . where did yuo tap into the ignition at? they said to get the pos from the black wire with yellow stripe. That and the black wire with white strip is what is giving my the problems. those 2 are the heater wires.i think it might be a weak power source because of how small the wire is and powering the sim and the heater. butits an led so it shouldnt
