carnkpulley removal ??
 

So whats the best way to get this bastard crank pulley off my spare y8 block its already fucked and i need a new one but im rebuilding the block so i need this pulley off.. I have a puller but i dont think its the right one. And the auto parts store has the same one i have .. the harmonic balancers puller deal.. but what i think i need is like a flywheel puller. Any suggestions??

Did you remove the bolt in the center? You shouldn't need a puller. I used a 3/4 impact to get the crank pulley bolt out.

yea the bolt was out no prob. w/ an impact from work. but the ------ pulley is just on their... i even beat it with a hammer cuz it was fucked anyways.. still wont budge...

I assume the motor is out of the car? anyway take a 4inch grinder and and just cut the thing off. be real carefull don't grind on the crank just grind down the pulley until its paper thin on one side then tap it with a chisel un it should come off.

another way would be to heat it up with a tourch and then have a buddy pry on it with a big ass crowbar and will he's holding pressure on it tap it with a hammer. just don't hit the crank with the tourch heat to much you don't want to fry the seal.

instead of just using a hammer use a pry bar or screw driver

just hit/ pry it from side to side, it will wiggle off

if its sorta stuck use 1 pry bar on each side of the bitch and gently pry it off.

Lol well i used a block of wood and just hit it a few times and kept spining it and it finally came of .. but now how to get the timing gear of?? Lol u can see there was a lil rust that kept the crank pulley on .. but the fucknig timing gear wont just slide off .. so i guess beat that too ?

sprayed some wd40 on that gear.. so i guess we'll see what happens..lol this engines bein a twat.. everythings more difficult then it should be
