car won't start. please help

My car will not start. Well I lied it has started 3 times and ran horribly for a few seconds and shut off. I can't even get it started again. What have I done since the last time it ran? Nothing. Last time I drove it it ran great. I went out to start it last night and the first attempt it just cranked. I tried a couple more times and it eventually fired up, but shut off almost immediately. It has good spark, fuel pressure, compression and everytime I pull the plugs they have fuel on them. This is what I've done today. Checked spark, compression test, fuel pressure(I have a gauge on the rail), timing belt(I've checked the timing and even removed the belt and lined everthing up and reinstalled the belt to make sure it didn't jump a tooth or something. This is not making any sense to me. Good compression (195 psi on 7 puffs), good spark and plugs are wet so its getting fuel. Motor is d15b2 in case anybody cares. My car is a 90' with an mpfi conversion and its boosted. Please give me some suggestions. Thanks

I've got good fuel pressure(42 psi on the rail). I've got good spark( pulled all plugs and cranked engine, all have spark). No codes. Engine management is zdyne secu w/dsm 450's.

Yes. That is why I made this thread. I have no ------- idea why my car won't start. I know it doesn't make sense since I have fuel and spark. I need some luck.

It is cold, but I don't think that the gas or lines are frozen if that was what you are implying. It was in the 20's F. when this was occuring. I'm thinking I may have bad gas. Maybe there is moisture or water in it. :-\

It usually doesn't even sound like it wants to start. It just keeps cranking, but sometimes it sounds like it wants to kick over and I hear a backfire out the exhaust. I did get it started a few times and it ran horribly for a few seconds and shut off. Since it did start a few times I would assume the fuses are good. And if not what fuses would I check?

No, not yet. I will try it tomorrow. May this cause a big backfire or flame out the intake manifold by spraying the starting fluid?

The whole point of it is just to see if it starts. If so your ignition is totally fine. Um apprentley you have never used it before car to your local parts store and read the instructions

I understand. I have used it before on my snowblower. I just spray it in the carb. Anyway, I'm gonna try it asap.

Re:car won't start. please help

Well, I fixed it. It wouldn't start with the starting fluid. I was still getting spark, but it didn't seem like it was sparking consistently. So I removed the distributor cap and the screw that holds the rotor on fell on the floor. So the screw worked its way loose but somehow it was still sparking good enough to get the car started a few times. So there is my story. Its fixed. Yay! :) Thanks for the help/suggestions guys.

Yes it is. Thanks for the suggestion. I wish my rotor would have fell off or something so that I wasn't getting any spark. That way I would have pulled the cap alot sooner. It was so frustrating knowing I had spark and fuel and it still wouldn't start.
