Can someone ID this engine?

I just bought a car that has a single cam 16v non vtec motor with twin side draft carbs on it, I googled it up and found out that it is a SOHC ZC, which would make sense as the engine number starts with ZC.

can anyone confirm this?

D16B seems to come up a lot as well

That would be called the SOHC ZC, thats what they call it, its basically a D16a6.

W/ a bigger cam and stronger valve springs.

Its obviously going to be turbo'd, so, should i keep the carbs or go for injection ? would a Z6 head fit on it?
or should i just do an engine swap?

Re:Can someone ID this engine?

---- i knew i should have payed more attention to the other engines, i only know the D16a9 which is nearly a ZC, we got Rovers over here with, i think, the D16a6, could i swap the injection system off it, I dont want carbs dam it.

Someone throw some ideas in the mix i'm ------- well confused, and i need to keep this ---- homemade and cheap

switching from carbs to fi isn't going to be too simple. you have to do all the wiring to accept an mpfi ecu, upgrade all fuel components basically from teh tank up. it's a lot of work, but it would be a cool/fun project and i'm sure you would learn a lot :-\

I'm thinking

walboro or w/e inline fuel pump to sort out the fuel delivery.

Space for the ECU is already there

Wiring harnesses are easy to get hold of over here and i would guess that they will be cheap as well so that shouldnt be too much trouble

Being in the UK gives me a wider spectrum for polluting the atmosphere so i could stick my DOHC ZC in it and switch it to OBD1 perhaps

or

Go for the upgrade to MPFI with the a6 inlet mani and injectors

You also have to get the dash harness also. A friend of mine did it years back in an old crx took everywire out of a fi 1stgen rex it worked but unless you have a complete car to take almost all the parts off it will be a pain. Also all fule line must be replaced with high pressure carbs run at 4-5 psi
