can i cut this off?

is it ok to chop this off and make room for my radiator, will it mess up anything??? I have a full race traction bar but still not enough clearance to mount eg radiator... >:(

Re: can i cut this off?

If the traction bar is enough support then yes you can. You will need to secure each side though.

are you going to use the bumper support? if so then you should be ok.

the radiator fits there but i have a turbo manifold and turbo that doesnt like its positioning... im just curious if the traction bar will give it enough support with that peice off>

yeah, i will be using the bumper support

i mean i dont see the bumper support bolted on the front. with that bolted, and the traction bar, you dont need that lower radiator support.
what about the upper radiator support? you using that also?

i dont have the bumper support on the front right now, cause im routing the charge pipes, but it will be used. I wontl be using the upper radiator support. I think im going to have to fab something off of the traction bar and mount the radiator at a slight angle cause the manifold gets in the way

wow good luck with that. looks scary to me. but if you have the tractoin bars then i guess you should be Ok. I guess thats why RENR's car always swerved a bit from side to side.

i dont wanna cut anything more off my car. its already been hacked up pretty good.

I'm cutting mine of and weld a narrow steel tube in it's place. the tube will be lighter and smaller...so I can make a bracket for my VTi radiator and let it sit lower, cause now I have to angle that tin

Where does the hood connect? or are you running pins?

I think that you should be fine if you have the old bumper support in there. The traction bar will offer more support than the lower crossmember did.

Cutting it and making a custom rad mount would be a good Idea, I might have a look at this.

yeh i want to make a set of brakets on the crossmember so i can slant the radiator, maybe then i will have room for a air filter.
