cable transmission on hydraulic system

I need a new transmission, and I came accross a b16 cable one, my system is hydraulic, what would I need to use this transmission, would I be able to use the same clutch? does anyone (hassport) sells a kit to make this happen? will I be able to use the same LSD ?

Re: cable transmission on hydraulic system

There are two different cable b16 trannies. Small shaft and big. The spline that the clutch slides on will tell you which one it is. If it is the big spline, it should work with your current clutch setup.

You could probably convert your pedal-rack to a cable setup pretty easy. Go to the junkyard and get one off a ef. Then you'd need a clutch cable from an da integra. Civic ones are too short.

I couldn't tell you which lsd's are interchangeable. Sorry

next question is which throwout bearing would I use if I keep the clutch from the hdraulic system and use the cable tranny?

i_heart_my_ef 04-06-2009 04:18 PM

hasport makes a kit for this

rudebwoy 04-07-2009 02:41 PM

I ordered the kit yesterday, then had to cancel the order, I guess I am stuck with the LS tranny. I hate these long gears.

well i actually seen a eg coupe that the swapped in a motor str8 from a da and they eliminated the clutch mc and jus got a ef pedal, and of cousre the cable.

wouldnt you just have to get new shift linkage and cut a hole on the fire wall

I don't wanna go through all that mess, I just plan to run a cable tranny in a hydraulic car using hasport adapter kit.

Can't you swap the entire gearset from the cable tranny into the hydro case? I'm pretty sure it is possible.

DraginX 05-12-2009 09:03 PM
