Default Cable Intermediate shaft question

I am wondering if there is a difference between trannys/intermediate shaft in b series cable from 90-91 and 92-93. I have a 92 tranny and a 91 Intermediate shaft and The intermediate shaft pushes into the tranny fine but the bolt holes won't line up... Almost seems as if they moved the axel placement in 92-93

They should be the same. It sounds like the intermediate shaft isn't seated all the way into the tranny.
