Buying a 92 si hb w/ a b16, need help!
Ok, so im trading in my turbo sol for this 92 si hb w/ a b16 in it. Im gona go look at it today but im not sure what im looking for. He says it was "professionally" swaped. The car looks really clean and has a lot of potential. I need to know what to look for though.
What ecu code should this have?(for example, on my sol p2
What kind of tranny, how do I tell which it is?
What kind of wiring, im sure it needed a new wiring harness.
Anything else I should know about?
Im new to the b-series and I don't know much about swaps, please shed some light on this for me so i don't get ripped off. Thanks

The ECU can either be a P28 chipped to handle the B16 or a P30 which is a DOHC Sol ECU. The tranny will be marked near the engine code on the block. Wireing most likly was improvised fro the VTEC sil. and teh knock sensor. You can jack up the car and right under the altinator there should be a VIN plate. if that is gone there is a 50/50 chance the engine is stollen. ask for recepts and ask where he bought the motor.

Thanks for the help, but, i just went and saw it, total ------- pos. The guy pretty much lied to me, and said it was really really clean, but his idea of clean was a little diferent from mine. It had a b16a3 and the guy didnt know jack about it. he wouldnt let me drive it, "due to insurance purposes" . It was a waste of time. I think it had the stock radiator as well. Oh well, thanks for the info though.
