building a built b16 head Question

I want to build a head for my b16 but i don't know what brands to go with and what a good price is for port and polishing one. i was thinking of going with skunk2 and crower with a aebs mani and a DC 4-2-1 2 peace header. any sugestions on why this would be bad or good?

edit: is it worth puting ITRcb and cams on?

Porting a head w/ a valve job,new seals and ne wvalvetrain instaleed is gonna cost ya in the 1200+ range. dh-racing.com is your best bet for cheap and fast turn around. If your gonna go turbo your cam choices will change and so will your head work so if your gonna go boost nothin larger than an itr/ctr cam. Now for the intake manifold I like aebs its cheap but fairly ugly but I great manifold for the cost cant go wrong

well i'm going to boost sooner or later.. but why not port and polish a head if i'm going to turbo it? is it cuz the highter compression? if so what about OBX cams with itr tb wit aebs manifold. and aem fuel rail.

If you are gonna boost it then don't waste your money on the header and whatever else you are planning. It cost a shitload of money to build a head. And you want it ported and polished? You are looking at over $1500 easy. What are your goals? If you aren't looking for over 400 hp I wouldn't even touch the head. I'd rather spend the money on internals or turbo parts.

Re: building a built b16 head Question

well i know a guy at work that knows a place that he recremends where i can get a port and polish 4 angel for around 300. but this is all on my daily driver :/ i'm just trying to figure a way where i can get what i want and still last alot of miles. if a good set up is a t3/t4 with itr tb and manifold. with a turbo.. then i would do it.. and i would hate to take my engine out to change the new clutch i just put in. :( it only holds 230 hp :(

i guess.. i never herd of it.. but he said all i need is a head and if i'm willing to drive there and back.. and pay him the cash. but then i need a b16 head :(. but having a built head. ( stupid Question) what would this give me andantage on with a turbo?

Re: building a built b16 head Question

its a 4 angle valve job not angel and for 300 your not getting that. A valve job costs almost 300 alone and porting a head takes 8-10 hours of skill plus the head must be milled and tanked. Whoever said 300 does shitty work has anyone who knows about cylinder head work charges atleast 750+ just to do a mild port/valve job. Just turbo the car a good head alone like is 1200+
