broken bolt, cant get it to come out
Nut/Bolt broke off. How can i take it out?
Hey! I have a 92 Honda Civic w/ B16a SiR II. I just recently replaced all mounts to the B series instead of the stock D series engine mounts. But there's one rear engine mount that i didn't replaced. It's still a D series rear mount. But there seems to be a bolt/screw that seems to be broken. And stuck there. So therefore i can not replaced the screw. Is there any way I can take it out. Without hitting it out. Here look at the diagram, Bolt 28 broke off. http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...13SR30_J27.gif http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...13SR30_J27.gif |
Re:broken bolt, cant get it to come out
did the bolt head break off.... and its still screwed in there... or did the bolt just snap and theres a peice stuck in there but not screwed on to anything .... if the bolt is still screwed in there... your gonna need to get one of those bolt removing things... it looks like a drill bit... you drill a small hole as a guide... and then get the bolt remover tap it into the hole, and just turn it the same way you would go to loosen the bolt... it should come right off.... if not... jut get a bolt or rod... a little smaller than the diameter of the bolt your trying to remove and with a hammer just tap it out... hopefully... it should come out the other side...

Re:broken bolt, cant get it to come out
go to your local hardware store and ask them where the e-z outs are and buy your self some of those, the bolt will come out pretty quick

Re:broken bolt, cant get it to come out
I honestly dont think a EZ out is going to take care of that one, just because of how it broke off, and how large that bolt is. plus that bolt is normally a pretty tight bolt.

Re:broken bolt, cant get it to come out
does the bolt go theough a ruber bushing if it does you can maybe cut the bolt between the metal bracket and the bushing with a sawzaw then remove the mount and try to turn the remaining part out with vise grips, thats if you can get to it ::)
