i couldnt find the brake pads i need for my car (i got 5 different sets from the autoparts store)

the only one that fit were the accord pads but they were a ---- hair too thick...

i took some sand paper and sanded the paint off the backside of the pad and the caliper closed.. but its a tight *** fit and it takes some effort to turn the rotor by hand.. its a little easier to turn the rotor with a tire on but it still takes a good bit of effort.

i want to get the pads to a belt sander and sand them down a bit.. but untill then this is all i got..

so yeah whats the worst that could happend.. driving like this with stress on the engine?

you dont need a beltsander just do it by hand it wont take long to sand it down. and besides it wont mess any thing up you car will just be .005 seconds slower and use more gas for a little bit

use an old brake pad and a big c-clip to force the piston back into the caliper youre working with.

also file down the tabs that hold the pads in the bracket, then grease them with an anti-seize grease (not the watery permatex stuff either)

already used the c clip

they arent stuck hard onto the caliper.. but the caliper housing itself..

i guess ill just go buy more sand paper today and sand them down some more

i meant c-clamp not c-clip.

are you sanding the edges that slide in the bracket, or are you sanding the flat pad/backing plate itself??

sorry yeah i meant c clamp too im just ------- tired

i sanded the edge of the bracked cause it had a good bit of rust on it.. and i sanded the backing of the pad... as well as a little off the pad itself..
