Blown HG I think

Today on my way to work I overheated, or started to anyways. Turned out I was simply low on coolant.

BUT

where did the coolant go? I spotted a leak on the drivers side dripping off the hydraulic lines that run to my steering rack. also my oil feed at the turbo still leaks but there's oil on the back of the block too, so something seems off.

couldnt find any hoses that were leaking or dripping from above or beneath the car. am i lifting the head perhaps or just popped a HG already. OE headgasket, stock head bolts (re-used) so I wouldnt be surprised.

Also, what do comp tests usually look like if you've blown a HG? I get a little oil smoke when its cold, but I got that when I was NA too. think its valve seals or something.

Reusing stock head bolts is not advisable. They are listed as stretch bolts and not to be reused.

i believe my statement "so im not surprised" kinda shows that I already knew that. :-* You do what you gotta.

Anyways, I don't think its the headgasket, its just a leak I can't find. Just doesn't have HG like symptoms, just got low on coolant.

I dont think z6 are torque to yield bolts.

maybe the oil feed is leaking at the back of the block also.
im not sure about coolent on that side of the motor though :( only thing is that water tube. the o-ring at the end?
any oil in the fluid? oil level the same?
i just had a problem with overheating. changed the thermostat and its fine. but then i was leaking coolant alot. turns out my radiator cap died.

i dunno ive inspected everything with a flashlight, got under the car, cant find a leak at all.

I think I should just change out the HG anyways and hit up some ARP's, I was getting some weird AFR dips tonite at the track too.

Oh AND I roasted my ACT Clutch. Clutch Specialties here I come.

Damn. I've used the same headbolts on the last 3 swaps and the same headgasket. Copper spray works wonders.

If coolant was getting into your cylinders then wouldn't it cause a lean condition? Is that what you mean by dips in the AFR?

Which ACT Clutch were you running? And how long did you have it? Even the heavy duty pressure plate should hold 230ft lbs... I wish I would have seen this on Saturday, we had a big trade show yesterday at the Expo center and I spent some time with the ACT rep...

Have you heard of Zoom Clutches? Supposedly they have a sprung 6-puck that will hold 300ft lbs for a decent price. I don't know much about them though, other than what the rep told me.

Im like right at the point of breaking past the threshhold of that clutch being able to take it, sometimes it slips, but most of the time it holds strong. anyways i picked up an ACT XTreme 4 puck, (holy ---- thats gonna suck in traffic) for a decent price from an hmt member who's going bigger and better, so I will have that to compliment the new LSD

The dips in AFR are rich when i get back on the throttle between shifts. I think its from throttle tip-in settings in Crome. I just can't try to do ---- about it at this point, dead laptop, and as of earlier tonite, dead eeprom burner. Ill drop you a PM, maybe if you're available I can take advantage of your tuner gear this weekend.

coolant isnt getting in the cylinders, the HG is fine i think. just a leak at a hose somewhere or something, i just cant find it.
