Default Bigger TB with turbo

I've got an A20A3 engine in an '87 Prelude. I was considering going turbo and I'm weighing all my options before I go spend-happy.

Some people with the A-series engines have gone and installed B-series intake manifolds (namely, B16 manifolds). They say it's good for a few more HP in the higher ranges, but it slaughters torque down low.

I was wondering how this would affect a turbo car? What would be the difference between stock small TB/runners and a B16 intake manifold with a low-boost car? I'm thinking 7-10 lbs at the max.

if tuned well an A20 is going to make decent torque, the B series mani's are worth more flow, more flow is good news...

its a cheap *** upgrade...
do it.

B series mani fits with a little grinding of the flange and two extra holes drilled. Not much work at all.

So I won't feel the bog effects that would normally occur with a N/A build and the B16 mani?

I don't think that is an issue if the b series tps is calabrated to A20 spec...

Fi creates so much extra torque you have nothing to worry about

Maybe not with FI, but the runners are so much shorter and wider that intake velocity drops dramatically, pulling torque down with it.

It's cheap enough that I'll consider just doing it to see what gains are like. I'm going low boost anyway, 7-10 psi probably, no more.

well if you worried about velocity a factory rebored throttle body and a nicely ported factory manifold is the best of both worlds
