Big Problem. >>>>
So last night I decided to be a ---- tard and got talked into running 07 sti, at about 130 my motor just let go, although it was still running it was boggy and was blowing smoke left and right. Pulled off an exit, there is no knocks nor ticks, and it still runs. Just very roughly at that. Through the crack's in my mani oil was creeping out. But the oil was black as a mo fo. Didnt look milky, but white smoke pours from the exhaust at idle. Headgasket? but it doesn't overheat at all? Im going to start tearing into it soon. Just wanted some opions. Any input is appreciated. Thanks nogs.

Re: Big Problem. >>>>
could be head gasket
could be turbo oil seal let got(seen it send oil up befor) could be pistons start with a compression test check blow by out of oil. cap check coolant level and if there is oil in it |

like said above.. compression test is ur friend.

Re: Big Problem. >>>>
When I cracked my sleeves, it behaved similiar. Similiar story too, minus the FMU (mine was chipped and tuned but vacuum line tee broke and it overboosted). Pull the cap off the radiator and rev the car once... mine shot fluid about 15ft in the air. I'd say blue smoke = bad ringlands. White smoke = bad hg or cracked sleeves. Either way you're gonna have to pull the head. Compression test should rule those out tho.

Re: Big Problem. >>>>
Geez, 130mph has got to be at least ringlands and possibly the hg. High load, high rpm, high timing...what did you really think was going to happen? Oh, and doing top speed runs was cool for the idiots in highschool...learn from this. :P

Re: Big Problem. >>>>
We all knew it was going to go, I just figured maybe it would be the hg that went. ususally we do a quick 60-120 pull. But the STI kept going so I figured what the hell.

Getting pulled over for doing 99.9mph+, gets your car ripped apart from the police having the right to do so, save it for the track, if you can hit 100mph in the 1/4 mile legally, their is nothing better, IMO :6
