Re:best d series motor
boostin my z6 in my 95 ;) so i say z6.. although the y8 tranny is better.. steel shifter forks..

Re:best d series motor
If you use the corresponding oil pan can you use a different D series oil pump with a Y block? Since the Y's have oil problems.

Re:best d series motor
d16z6 is the best 92-95 motor..
for all around ANY D-series, i gotta go w/ the d15b vtec from Japan, same as a z6, but better R/S Ratio. |

Re:best d series motor
The best engine for your application would be a D16z6, however the best overall D-series engine in performance (in a stock form) would be the JDM Dohc ZC 1.6l. It is possible to swap one in your 92-95, but you will need to swap alot of little things on it to make it work correctly with OBD1. Mista Bone seems to think there are tons of OBD1 ZC's floating around so maybe you can call him up to get one and get your tranny rebuilt.
;) |
Re:best d series motor

Re:best d series motor

It wasn't easy, but it works. |
Re:best d series motor
The best D series motor is the one already in your car, thats the joy of them. If you're going to swap to a stock engine might as well get a B.
