B18C1 Motor Swap Guide - Honda, Acura Tech Website, tutorials, tuning and HOW-TO's. Drag racing, street racing, road racing - C-speedracing.com

i think this sums it up well. if you search here you should find some more, b20 vtec has some info too. Its mostly just mounts, few wires on the ecu, knock sensor and vtec wiring depending on the donor car and the motor linkage and axles.

an SI changes everything.

the 00 SI came with a B16. DOHC vtec. if you put a b18b in there and use the stock ecu, it will throw codes for vtec stuff. if you use an obd2 teg ecu or chip his ecu and disable vtec then it would work. you could also put the b16 head on the b18 block and pretty much be fine. a little more fuel would be good, but it should run fine.

putting the y8 in there should be pretty simple but using the stock ecu, it will probably run a bit rich. not a ton cause they are both 1.6L but the b16 head flows a lot more than the d16 head.

any chance the car is an 00 ex? then the y8 is what they come with.
