stock sized acl bearings for a y8, here are the clearances:

journal #

1- .0016 > would need .0002" thicker bearing to be in spec

2- .0020 > +.0003"

3- .0021 > 1 tenth over the service limit +.0004"

4- .0017 > good

5- .0019 > +.0005"

i was thinking of getting color honda bearings to ensure everthing is right on. Anyone know the thickness of a stock acl bearing? the color coded chart only lists thickness, not which size is stock. Should i even worry if the worst clearance is only .0005" off? One journal is .0001" over the service limit though.

 

switch them aorund untill you find the right combo if they are new. if you feel like taking enough time you can get them almost exactly the same

 

I agree. STD ACL bearings are the equivalent of the Honda "green"/middle spec bearings.

 

ACL green bearings never gave me any problems. but spec them out
