Battle of the Egay Clutches!
Just for shits and giggles, I want to get an eBay clutch.
We're fighting over the XTD Stg 3, and the F1 Racing Stg 3. XTD: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWA:VRI F1: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA:IT&ih=005 They are both $129 + shipping. They both handle 320HP. After some forum and google searching, turned up 3 bad reviews on the XTD, no bad reviews on the F1. I'll probably settle with the F1 depending on the shipping. Any opions on these clutches? |

they probably both use a stock organic disk, with a heat treated stock pressure plate...so it really doesnt matter.

I've been using an XTD for just under a year now on my boosted D16. It loves to get raped. Just like hotrex's mom.

When I got my XTD flywheel and clutch it was a sweet chromoly SFI endorsed and the clutch that came with it was a actually name brand. I got a ebay sprung 6 puck for my corolla and the fucker grabs hard. Hell I can chirp it down shifting it grabs so hard! lol. Ebay clutches FTW! Screw that name brand ----. :6

I think I'm gonna pick up the F1 just because there were 3 horror stories on HT about the XTD.

Yeah, but is there anything on the F1 at all?
You've got 3 good reviews of XTD on here already, how many on HT? For me that would be enough to go with the XTD even if you've read three horror stories on HT. |

Loved my xtd as well...(styage 3 6 puck ceramic) tilll i went to 15 psi (303 WHP/3056 TQ)....lasted just under a year tilkl i put slicks on the car at the track...nowit doesnt hold really well.... BUT im not knocking it, i got the full meal deal too, and for 260 or whatever it was (w/ flywheel) you cant beat it.

There were 3+ good reviews on the F1 on HT. Is it worth it for a flywheel as well?

The kid i bought my Konis from used a F1 in his B16 and the disc shattered and destroyed his tranny :3 I believe i have heard numerous bad things about them but i don't think i can provide you any links...just get one from LSD motorsports

My buddy and I just installed an XTD clutch and flywheel in a 93 civic ex with a td04 @ 10psi. That thing grabs awesome even with the worst break in ever. We are getting ready to put another one in a 91 hatchback with a t3/t04 on it. Yes the flywheel is a good deal. Also, the shipping was awesome took three days from the day ordered.

Just to confirm what I said earlier I was talking to my friend and it was indeed a F1 clutch that exploded...I saw the aftermath the bell housing was ripped up pretty bad :-X

Yikes. 1 exploded F1 vs. 3 Exploded XTD (Says HT :l). As we all know HMT is much more trustworthy, so I'm starting to lean towards XTD again...

Well the kid was from h-t whos car it was but I he showed my friends and I the housing when i bought some parts from him and even H-t wouldn't want to trash a hydro GSR tranny to just bad mouth a produce...would they?

I have always used act and had a pressure plate that was on like 6 d builds and 3+years and never had problems

I have XTD on the car right now and have no complain so far. The final test will be when the turbo will be put on.

i have an xtd stage 2. i didnt break it in at all. i raped it within the first 5 miles of driving it.
only thing is the damn clutch chatter, but thats because of not breaking it in. besides that, it grabs like a mutha and it was cheap as hell. i also got a 12lbs xtd flywheel. |

EZclutch is another ebay clutch company. It's the place I got my sprung 6 puck from on ebay. 190 shipped cause I was able to give him a cheaper offer and lowballed him 30 bucks cheaper and he still accepted. :6
