basic q's for d-series guys

im want to build a motor. i have lined up to buy an a6 block and crank. when i order pistons and rods, can i just order them for a z6, i plan on putting my old head on it from my motor right now. so i was wondering if everything is nterchangeable or not such as pistons, rods, various pumps, bolts etc.

i have searched, but not too much luck. thanx for any help[

all d16 is interchangeable, you just have to be careful of the resulting compression ratio's when mixing parts.

the compression calc in this forum will tell you what the change from a6 to z6 pistons is like, just calculate out a stock a6, then run it with z6 pistons and see what the amount of drop or gain is. if it jumps up .2:1, then that would be your increase from whatever comp forged pistons you buy.

i looke it over and the other links on there. so all the rods would stay the same between blocks, because thats the way it looked to me.
