Bad Wheel bearing?
 

I can feel a noticable wobble when I get up around 70-75 mph. I jacked the car up and I can feel significant play in the drivers side wheel. That's a bad wheel bearing right? To replace it, I have to pull the knuckle and have a new bearing pressed in. Does anyone know how much that runs? I remember being charged like $30 to have my ball joints pressed out/in, so I figured for $70, I can buy my own press and do it myself. Is this adequate for doing wheel bearings/ball joints/anything else I might need? Harbor Freight 6 ton Shop Press

What kind of a noise does it make? Is it like a humming, knocking, clanking? What do you hear?

Does it hum? My winter beater accord has them going in the front end, I haven't jack the car up, but normally you don't get that much play in bearings, Just a lot of humming. at almost any speed. Mine used to only do it at 50 and above, but now creaping it hums.

Normally it you get alot of play its' ball joints. can you move the tire when its on the ground. Grab you tire with weight on it, and reaf on it, if you can move it, normally ball joints

Jack your car up and wiggle the ---- out of the wheel while looking at the ball joints and where the axle goes into the hub. look for movement in the ball joints, shake from side to side and chech tie rod ends than check upper and lower ball joints and if thats not it its prob your bearing. Ive pressed bearing in and out with a vice before, not the proper way to do it but it works!

I replaced the lower ball joints and inner and outer tie rods about a year ago. I checked them when I replaced my alternator about a month or so ago and they were all fine. It doesn't hum per se, I do hear metal on metal contact, but I think it's the dust shield for the brakes rubbing against the rotor. Also, my CV joint is clicking when I make left hand turns, I don't know if that's related or not. I have a 6" Bench vise, do you think I can press them out/in with it?

I have the same problem. Anything above 50 it seems like. A constant knocking or bumping noise. Gets way louder when I turn on the highway. Very annoying on highway...It happens when I turn either way. Wheel bearings?

upper balljoints go bad too, I had it once. BAD woble above 50!!! Check them out. I'm just saying from experience. If it's not humming, sounding like yo have off road tires, it's probably your ball joint

you can press them in with the vice, you just need a big ass socket to press it in with.

A bad cv joint will knock too, does it do it while turning? and how old are the axles? Even if it dosent make the sound around a turn it can still be a axle, but I would try ball joints first.

If you have play make sure your axle nut is tight. I had a good bit of play in my LF wheel on my prelude. Like when I would grab the top and bottom of the tire and pull back in forth. That is how you check for play in wheel bearings. I tightened up the axle nut and it took the play out. I don't know how I had play because the axle nut was torqued still, but it did and tightening it up eliminated the play. Your wheel bearing may still be bad though.
