b21a1 into a 4g hatch
i wanted to just buy a 4th gen hatch with a blown motor in it and drop an ls in for a daily driver but my friend has a 90 si lude sitting in there garage that they dont want and i could get the motor for like 200 dollars. with the normal b series swap mounts would this drop in? i think id drop a b series cable trans in with it. i know everyone says this motor is junk on ever website i look up but i dont beleive that ----.

Re: b21a1 into a 4g hatch
That is not a "normal" b-series, the Bolt pattern on the bell housing is different so a cable trans just wont bolt right up to it. Even if you did get the tranny to mount up, who knows what intermediate shaft would work!?.. The Driverside mount is also different so a normal B-series mount kit for a EF wont work. Not to mention what ecu would work with this? I suppose the stock b21 ecu would work? It's definatly uncharted territory and not worth all the work for the outcome. The motor is the boatanchor B, and there is a reason nobody puts them in

B20A/B21A aren't horrible engines, they are just unsupported engines that don't fit easily into Civic/Integras.
A local guy with a 91 Prelude has a mildly built B21, runs 8.8's in the 1/8th on motor. Yup - faster than your average LS1 Slomaro.
90-91 Prelude Si gets OBD1 ECU plugs. The 88-89 models get 24-tooth CKP in the distributor, so OBD0 ECU plugs nonwithstanding are OBD1-compliant. Shame the PK2/PK3 ECU is alien garbage *cough* ECU swap *cough*
