B20A5 Think it can be made turbo cheap
Well I got a crappy 88 prelude with a B20A5 and I was thinking I would like to fix it up and have it for fun, Put a turbo kit in there and replace it's auto tranny with a Manual one .
The turbo world is new to me, I don't know much of it but is my engine easy to work with? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just do it.
And if you're going yunkyard turbo on it..get a K-26 or big T3..a k-27 would be ok..If you don't mind the lag or a K26/27 hybrid that is if you're in europe..not that expensive in europe though.

Re:B20A5 Think it can be made turbo cheap
I worked on a auto to manual conversion on a 94 prelude with my friend and it was a huge project. I don't know if that year prelude has the same hydro clutch but if it does think about all the stuff you need: trans, flywheel, ecu, clutch, pedal assembley, clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, some other dumbass thing that the clutch lines run to to stop vibration in the pedal, and all the hard lines for the clutch. I'm not saying don't do it but it is a huge project and very expensive. But have fun if you do it.

Re:B20A5 Think it can be made turbo cheap
I should be able to get a good st. tranny by trading my auto for it. fork It should be hard work but well worth it(what fun is it to drive a honda automatic ).
it's going to be a real bitch to find a cheap turbo around here( I live in Puerto Rico). Im not sure but do like turbo's have a serial number id that supposed to match the car?? I've seen some hot turbo's around for real cheap I just don't know to just buy one.....

the b20a5 the rods are smaller then D series rods and you will blow the ---- out of the motor in about 5 mintues. my friend has a 90 prelude for playing around with and its motor is so weak and from what i have read on other sites this motor is the most shitty motor honda has built and can't take any boost.

Check out http://www.preludepower.com/ There's a couple of people who've swapped in a 5speed and over 20 that are about to be getting the turbo manifolds from the two group buys there.
