B20 Vtec economy question
What MPG is one to expect of a descently built NA B20 Vtec? If one is built right, how long do they usually last, if taken care of?
Thanks SlowC |
Re:B20 Vtec economy question
Are there any sites that give information on the pistons, valve clearence, all the need to knows of this swap. I've found B20vtec, C-Speed, but I have not found a site that breaks it ALL down, from Pitons to crank to this head is better then the other... and so on... Can you all point me in the informational direction?
Thanks much SlowC |
Re:B20 Vtec economy question
The best head for NA high compression is the b16 head...

Re:B20 Vtec economy question
Is that for the combustion chamber or the fact that It is cheaper with mods then the ITR head? Do you know of any sites that list out what parts are nec? I appreciate your help, and every one elses!

Re:B20 Vtec economy question
Obviously the economy of the engine will be dictated by your engine managment and how well it is tuned.. Example, I was getting 20ish mpg on my ls/vtec when I first tuned it, then after I dyno tuned it, I got it setup around 25ish.
Now the B20 is a different story, I'm having some difficult times getting this thing setup for cruise, it just eats gas like a mother fucker, I need to dyno it again for cruse/on off throttle for mileage. Jeff |
Re:B20 Vtec economy question
smaller combustion chamber = higher compression, but yes the chamber is smaller and there is alot to say for b16 heads
