B18C rods and pistons into LS
I blew my B18b1, 2 pistons gone, but a friend got some GSR pistons with rods for free.
The question are.....I can put those GSR pistons and rods into an LS or not? |

gsr pistons and ls rods wont work?
|
Re: B18C rods and pistons into LS
you can use the gsr pistons with your stock ls rods, not with the gsr rods though. you would need the gsr crank to use the gsr rods

Re: B18C rods and pistons into LS
It is much easier to remove material from something than it is to add it.
LS, B16, and B17 rods are all wider than the B18C rods by about 0.040" Too much side clearance == no oil control and dead bearings in no time flat. |
Re: B18C rods and pistons into LS
Didnīt remove the GSR pistons and rods from the LS block and install a B16 head, now the engine have no problems, pistons didnīt hit the head, love when vtec engages, all works perfect.
Right now i am driving the car and feels ok, also make a compression test with this results Piston 1 -- 170 Piston 2 -- 177 Piston 3 -- 170 Piston 4 -- 170 Letīs see the car how it feels on the track |
Re: B18C rods and pistons into LS
thats some weak compression numbers... hope the compression ratio is 8.5:1...

Now his compression came out to 135 across an a brand new 2.2L B18c1. Rings weren't sealing yet. |
