b18a strengh
Hi, I just want to know why LS engine cant go at 8000 rpm for example?
I'm thinking about this because of the thread here:
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...11.0;topicseen
He use LS rods and crank in a gsr block but I tought both the GSR block and rod were stronger than LS.
To be short, I want to know what is limiting the rpm of the LS engine? Head? Rod bolts? Crank bolts? Balance? Strengh?
Thanks and have a nice day!

im kind of interested in some more opinions as well as i am building my LS motor as we speak. the valvetrain is the weakest part of the LS because of the ----- valve springs and retainer configuration, they also suffer rod bolt design as they use the same rod bolt size of the D16 motors. i am throwing some crowers in mine with supertech springs, lower seats and keeping the OE retainers because i dont want to check Ti ones for cracks at every oil change. but i know of guys reving the motors out to 8-8400 and never having problems. which i will rev till the cams no longer make power but my question is are the adjusting the clearance as tight as it can go to keep the rockers in place and adjusting every 5-6k or are they running normal service clearance? i would love to be enlightened..

I'll try to find more infos about this...
