b18a Help!!!
I've got the motor in now(b18a into 90 Si)...All wired up, but i'm having an Idle surge issue.... the vaccum lines seem to be correct, as i compared them to my buddy's integra but i can't seem to get it right?? Any ideas?? Also, the motor came from an automatic integra and the INtake manifold has an EGR valve that the Standards don't, what do i do with that, do i put a vaccum source on it or not??
Also, the my ingintor went bad in the dist, we changed it over, it ran for 5 mins and now it's just backfiring again and won't start, did i put it in wrong, or is this a common problem??

Re:b18a Help!!!
Mine is a manual and I'm sure it has an EGR valve.

Re:b18a Help!!!
well...my buddy is doing the same swap, he has a 90 B18a, so do i, and his was taken from a standard and doesn't have an EGR valve on the Manifold...Neither does another guy i know with a 90 Teg...I don't think it's causing the problem...i'm more concerned with the idle surging...

Re:b18a Help!!!
Ok. I have an Idle Troubleshooting guide sitting infront of me. I will type out what things it says to check.
1. Vacuum routing.
2. Check PCV valve for cracks, if unsure about condition, replace, they are cheap.
3. Take off intake tube and make sure throttle plate is 100% closed when idle.
4. Bleed coolant. Bubbles will throw off the Fast Idle valve
5. take off intake tube. while car is FULLY warmed up, and cover the bottom hole that is before the throttle plate using your finger. If the idle smoothes out then your fast idle valve is leaking air. pull it off and check it out. if nothing changes cover BOTH holes. the car should sputter and die. The Idle air control valve is too blame, check it out carefully. If the idle is STILL high after both of those then u have a vacuum leak.

Re:b18a Help!!!
The ------- thing still won't start, tried 2 more distributors...It's not backfiring anymore, it just doesn't want to start....Is there any chance a crossed vaccum line on something would cause it not to start, it tries to start, and sometimes almost catches, then it's back to the same ----...

Re:b18a Help!!!
I've got fuel and spark, i just think the spark is coming at the wrong time, causing the backfire..It'll start when i borrow a freinds dist, but that's it....Since i've got spark, but it won't start, is there anything other than the ignitor in the dist that would cause this? I want to pick one up from acura but they are not returnable so i want to be sure that's what i need.
