Re: b18 non-vtec+big boost
the p8r head does have an 84mm chamber, i personally belive it has like a 43-44 cc chamber compared to the 45cc LS head and it flows 20 cfm more than a regular LS head stock for stock. however you shouldnt buy one untill i do since they are super rare and i got dibs...
but yeah again im with jdavis "grab a good set of cams, boost that biotch, rev to 8 grand, and call it a day." |
Re: b18 non-vtec+big boost
i talked to my machinest. he said 200 thats including old guides pressed out and new ones pressed in and a 3 angl valve job and overbore if i decided to go with bigger valves. im thinking 1mm over with nitride coated stainless valves. also gonna run tit retainers and dual valve springs. ill just give it a mild pnp with the summit porting kit. im not gona gut the ---- outta it, just match the ports with the exhaust mani and clean up casting marks and debur.
my goal is about 400-450 with my built bottom end with an sc61 on pump gas. |
Re: b18 non-vtec+big boost
3G Piglude intake valves are 33mm, and have the correct stem and overall length. Bowl needs worked to suit a 2mm increase in size.
Supertech makes "stock" sized replacements for those engines. From a flow aspect, go with Omni's valves. Brad Z says they flow the best on the market. |
Re: b18 non-vtec+big boost
i dont think omni makes stuff for non-vtec. im probably gonna go with kms engineering parts. they have a full kit and they said they would swap there block gaurd with the guides i want

Re: b18 non-vtec+big boost
I was looking at KMS. They have an awful nice valvetrain deal, considering it for D-series. If they trade blockguard from the combo for valveguides they have my business.
