Default B16a2 Building Q's

I was lucky enough to come by a B16 a girl was getting rid of for a decent price so now it's time to build The couple q's I have are the following. I have a set of the B16b pistons and they are molybdenum coated. I hear that with the coating they aren't good with either nitrous or turbo application, is this so? Secondly, I was planning on just mimicing the B16b engine by replacing cams, rods, pistons, rings...etc, however with the pair of cam shafts that go for $600 some dollars, is there anything just as good but for a little cheaper? I figure im just paying for the name "Type R" cams (well, not just the name, they are obviously good cams).

Thanks for the help and opinions

get aftermarket cams, springs and retainers for that price

and if u wanna make an NA beast go with aftermarket pistons and rods because they are lighter than oem parts

if u wanna turbo then go with low compression pistons
b16b pistons arent the ideal choice

Also I read that in a NA car the Civic Type-r cams in a B16 engine only created 5 hp more than did the stock cams. Whether this is true or not because I have heard they make huge differences too so I dont really know? but do your research, and as posted above I'd go with some nice aftermarkets myself for those kind of prices.

probably true. the CTR motor is basically a de-stroked b18c5 )ITR) motor.

2000+ ITR cams are the same as b16b cams.

CTR cams react well in b16's. I had a friend that we installed a set of skunk sg 2's and it was just overkill on that small motor. Just becasue a cam is larger and can create more power doesnt make it ideal for every application. Compression, displacment and especially port work are factors in deciding the ideal cams.
