I just faild emmisions in Colorado today. I through a O2 code intemittenly so Im going go change the O2 sensor and try again. What sensor is sensor A on the exhaust manifold because I think it might be possible that I got the two O2's fliped during installation.

 

sensor A is the first one, should be more wires 4 or so.
I would get a new o2 sensor though to just be safe

 

what car is this? if its an OBD 0 and a pwo or pr3 ECU it needs 2 1 wire O2 sensors or you will run super rich, i had that problem when i did my frist set of e-tests in colorado

 

ALSO make sure you have a GOOD cat and its not gutted.

sorry, Im running a pr3 ecu so its OBD0. I have a new cat but its kinda small. Im guessing O2 #1 is for cyl. 1-2 and O2 #2 is for cyl. three and four. So, do does the 2 single wire o2 set up typicaly run rich? and what can i do to fix it.

 

if your only running one o2 then you are going to run rich, if your running 2 o2's then your hurting. i did notice that i could NOT use an USDM o2 sensor on my pr3 i had. it could have been bad but the new o2's from napa look the same as teh JDM ones. who swapped your motor out for you?

 

I did the swap myself. So what O2s should i use and how do i fix my problem of running rich?

 

go to napa and get a 91 crx si 1.6 o2

 

I went to auto zone and got 2 new bosch ones and i am running the pr3
