b16 vs. ls question

i recently picked up a jdm b16a for next to nothing, and i'm wondering would it be better on boost than a b18a? i have a lil 4-door 90 ls teg that the b16 would just drop straight into, i've seen a lot of ls eg turbo's makin good power, but havent really seen that many b16a turbo setups around. do the b16a's do good on boost? seems to me like the 10.4:1 compression is bordering on excessive... i dunno yet if i wanna drop money into it to build it, im thinking of picking up another project right now so i'd really like to keep costs down for this build. should i drop the b16 in the teg and turbo the ls in the civic or just drop the b16 in and turbo it? could i use ls pistons or another b-series piston to bring the compression down? i was looking at the pistons and it seems to have the same bore as the 1.8L's, just looks like the stroke is a lot shorter. can anybody verify this? also would there be a problem using ls pistons with the b16's oil squirters?

just boost the stock b16...if you havent seen a lot of b16s turbo'd you need to look harder. They love boost almost as much as hotrex loves his mom's sweet ass.

Re: b16 vs. ls question

how much power is it safe to run on a stock block assuming that i'll be doing the tuning myself (meaning i'll be tuning out the fuel maps with my plx m300 and crome, and leaving the ignition values alone save for the boost retard). how much boost would be safe assuming i'll be using either a big t3 or t3/t4?

Re: b16 vs. ls question

There's a thread on honda-tech about the most people have made out of different motors with all stock bottom ends: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1478127. Looks like they make a bunch more than the LS to me. People generally feel safer running an LS bottom end vs a b16..but i think its only b/c they come stock with lower compression, and b/c they're cheaper to replace.
