Default b16 tranny swap..

once again.. something very ------- simple turns out to be a ------- drag with buk

swapping trannies on the rex i got and the mother ------- axle not on the driver side wont come out...

im prettyyyyy sure i have everything off the tranny.. got the entire shock tower off the passenger side for good measure and prettttttty sure the tranny is held in place by just the midshaft/driverside axle.. well.. its secured with bolts for now..

am i doing something wrong? or do you need to remove the driver axle too.. when you do a bseries tranny swap??

take both axles out ...spray some nut busting stuff on axle nut thats stuck... let it sit for a while.
if you mean you can't pull the axle out of the trans use two pry bars opposite of each other and pry. theres also a axle puller at autozone u can rent but i've never had luck with it.

If you can't get it out of the hub just use a piece of wood and drive it out after spraying it with some liquid rench or other penetrating spray.

If it is stuck in the trans I use a wide set pickle fork. That seems to work for me.

If it is something else then I really can't understand it by the explanation you gave.

This is where having a 3/4 inch impact comes in handy. Im assuming you cant get the nut off the axle to remove it from the hub. Being your part of the country its just rusted to hell. If you only have hand tools you can try to tighten yes thats right just enough to uncease the bolt. Then spray an ungodly amount of lube and try you best and then trying to come off.

If not take spindle off with axle go to muffler/tire shop. Have them hit it with there 3/4 impact and drop them a 12 pack.

Nothing crazy I have gone threw it myself and with these cars getting older rusted bolts is just part of the world
