B16 tranny 6,600rpm on 5th @80MPH
Is that normal for B16's to be reving that high at that slow of speed Cause i drove my bros hatch yesterday and it has a b16A1, Y1 tranny?, LSD, and it guzzles gas like crazy.... I was guessing that it might have a shorter gear ratio thats why it is reving so high. would that have something to do with it. It accelerated real good... but it tops outs real fast.... so what does a normal tranny make your engine rev at on 5th and at 80mph?

Damn that's crazy. My POS DX tranny sits at like 2500 at 80 in 5th. Do you have any times for that car?

No cable B series tranny had a 4.7 fd.... the 4.7 ring gear is too large to clear the Y1 case.
If you were in 5th, at 6600rpm, the speed should be close to 120mp/h.
From the sounds of it, looks like youre in 3rd when you think youre in 5th. Has the shift linkage been modified?
3rd @6.6k= 74mph
4th @6.6k= 95mph
5th @6.6k=120mph
