B16 Tb Questions
I have a b16 head w/ a Tb that I think needs the firewall-mounted MAP sensor.I also think it has a bad tps sensor, because the outer casing to the plug is broken and it appears that there is a missing pin on the sensor. So I was thinking of using a spare ls tb i had from my ls longblock, it has a tb mounted map sensor and it appears to be roughly the same diameter. Will this work? What are if any the differences between the b16 and Ls tbs?

Re: B16 Tb Questions
it will work fine, easier solution would be to just use the LS TPS on the B16 tb though.

Re: B16 Tb Questions
Yeah, but the B16 TB still doesn't have a MAP sensor attached to it. I would have to get a map sensor and I would have to calibrate the tps sensor, wouldn't I?

Re: B16 Tb Questions
I tried to fit the LS tb on the b16 im, but theres a valve of some sort below the tb that makes it so the tb will not bolt on . on further inspection it appears that this valve thing is built into the ls tb. So im thinking i will have to make a blockoff plate on the im if i want to use the LS tb. Does anyone know what i'm talking about??

Re: B16 Tb Questions
yeah, you are talking about the fitv or fast idle control valve, you dont want to take that off. just swap the LS tps to the B16 TB and call it a day. calibration is easy. back probe the connetor and rotate until you get .45 at closed throttle and 4.5 at WOT. or as HT mechanics say .5 at idle and 5.0 at WOT.

Re: B16 Tb Questions
OK, but what about a map sensor?? Will I have to get a firewall mounted sensor??

Re: B16 Tb Questions
nah man, take the one off the LS tb and zip tie it somewhere, run a vacuum line to it and your good.

Re: B16 Tb Questions
Hah, thats what I was thinking.
