Hey whats up guys this might be dumb question but wil i need to change my hood if i dropp in a b18a1 in to my 89 hatch? will i have clearance problems? what about a b16? thanks

 

I've heard rumors that you have to cut some of the rib supports under the hood off. But I think it depeneds on the motor mounts.

 

the whole time I had my b16 in the car and I was working on it I thought there was no way my hood was going to fit, but when I finally put the hood on it fit perfect without having to cut any of the ribs. It all just depends on the mounts, AZ race and machine mounts work good, I have some no-namers and they cleared the hood.

 

If you go with a b18 motor ls or gsr they are slightly taller than the b16a so yes there will be slight rubing even with a good mount kit. No big deal or go get your self a zc hood or a set of washers to slightly lift the hood and no problems.
