B Series Intake Manifolds The Real Deal
Well here is a little list with pics and info regarding b series factory intake manifolds
Here we begin with the baller B manifold the B18c1 or GSR. This is a 3 piece manifold and is by far the best flowing B manifold when ported correctly. Lots of work to achieve this and a flowbench rookie's with a dremel tool send it off to a pro. Only gsr manifolds fit on gsr heads http://img304.imageshack.us/img304/7...fold8oh.th.jpg Now we move onto the wonderful world of The Integra LS Non Vtec world. From 1990-2001 the LS is the easiest and cheapest B series motor to find. There are some major differences in these manifolds Starting with the b18a1 the 5 spd and Auto have a different manifold but same bolt pattern. The Automatic has an egr port not found on the 5 spd b18a1 manifolds notice egr port on 1st pic http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/4...auto8rf.th.jpg http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/6...bdo52bw.th.jpg 5spd b18a1 http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/8...mani3ne.th.jpg JDM b18b1 Manifold. This uses a different IACV from the b18a1 along with different fuel rail. All b18 non vtec ls manifolds fit on ls heads and only ls heads Oh so popular B16a Manifold. There are also minor changes in the b16a from 1989-2000 from IAT change found in OBD2 along with vacuum ports in different areas. Also different fuel rails. Plenum volume also changes between the years but nothing to fuss abou. Again only b16a manifolds fit on b16a heads http://img304.imageshack.us/img304/1...obdo7vd.th.jpg obdo jdm b16a manifold http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/2...obd16am.th.jpg obd1 jdm b16a manifold Finally we get to the oh so famous ITR manifold. Large plenum volume 1 piece manifold. Fits b16a and ITR heads only. 64mm factory plenum. Great manifold. Requires obd1+b fuel rail. http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/6418/itr5yd.th.jpg Thats it just some good ole info. Enjoy |

Re: B Series Intake Manifolds The Real Deal
Oh ya feel free to add to the thread but correct info. Oh the tall b20 manifold and 56mm tb odd stuff. Thanks whiterice good stuff. Hybrid still rules. :)

Re: B Series Intake Manifolds The Real Deal
There's also the CTR B16B intake manifold which uses the same P73 casting as the ITR manifold. The CTR has a smaller throttle body and slight difference in a vacuum reference.
P73 casting: CTR: http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/3775/ctr035mh.th.jpgITR: http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/5759/itr033um.th.jpg CTR has the PCT stamp. http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/6118/ctr025vo.th.jpg ITR has the P73 stamp. http://img458.imageshack.us/img458/8195/itr041ii.th.jpg See the nipple. Re: B Series Intake Manifolds The Real Deal
Obd1 GSR b17a usdm is almost identical has the obdo JDM b16a minus the shorter IACV port. Same tb.

Re: B Series Intake Manifolds The Real Deal
I'd sure like to see the finished product on a correctly ported gsr manifold. I started mine, and then threw it on the shelf because the ribs of the runners on the head side of the break looked impossible to do what I thought I was supposed to.

I did one of these awhile ago and it makes great power same work ericks racing and dhracing do also. Basically better like to spend around 15 hours on it. |
