AWD civic conversion

okay im getting pissed with this whole FWD thing, im feelin an AWD conversion coming on...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...968821793&rd=1

other than the tranny shown above, what else would i need to convert my 2000 dx coupe to awd?
i think this would be a sick project to attempt

Re: AWD civic conversion

that tranny's been on ebay forever...man awd conversion isnt gonna be easy. honda tuning tried/did one on an integra, and they kept running into problems. unless youre a master fabricator, welder and have the patience of a saint, id say deal with it. or just buy a wrx and call it a day ;)

Re: AWD civic conversion

Sorry, but an AWD conversion was possibly the worst idea ever though of by Honda enthusiasts.

Re: AWD civic conversion

Would be cool. Honda Tuning Did it and it worked(mostly)

The problem with the d16 AQWD trannies is only 10% of the power makes it to rear wheels and they were weak as hell. Why do you think honda only AWD in 1 generation.

If you really want. Find one of the ultra rae AWD JDM Integras, but they sucked to so that chassis went under like the Wagovan

Re: AWD civic conversion

----, that be cool.

why not just strip the hell outa a CRV and lower it. that be cool. then turbo it. O0

Re: AWD civic conversion

does that tranny have the rear end with it too.??

i've always wanted to put the 1g eclipse 4g63 and AWD tranny in a 97 mirage, (a 97 beacause thats the year of mirage my girlfriend has. ;D) kinda make it a Lancer Evolution

There are two generations of awd civics, the least the 88+ trans will apply to the rear wheels is 10% The more the front slips the more the rear gets.

Re: AWD civic conversion

Just get the wagon, pay the $ for custom axles and a custom tranny. You wont have to do a thing of fabbing urself and ull be on top of the world ;)
