AVG Mini-Me HP Gains?

I tried to do a search on several different forums and the web,but didn't have much luck.I'm sure it varies, but on average what is the hp gain when doing a mini me swap.If I feel its worth the extra money then ill be looking to put a y8 head on my y7 block.I want to keep it stock, but a mild build of the head won't hurt.Thank you for your time.

A mini-me isn't a mild build of the head or any sort of build of the head.

9 HP tops.

I'm sorry you lost me.So if I put the y8 head on my y7 block and later decide to build the head, then what does it become? If the hp gain is really that minimal, then its not really worth it to me.

back in the day I hit 128.8hp on a a6 bottom and y8 head, stock cam and the a6 intake manifold. 9hp ::)

y7/y8 mini-me is definately worth it, easily 15+whp peak. it will basically be a y8 once you do it, dont know where he got 9hp. do it, its worth it. then boost it.

Re: AVG Mini-Me HP Gains?

Thank you guys for the feedback.9hp didn't seem correct,if the gain was only a possible 9 hp I don't think many people would do it.I do plan on boosting it with a goal of 200 whp in mind so I'm trying to do everything I can to make as many NA hp as possible, then when I boost it will make the 200 hp mark a little easier to achieve. So far I just have the hf manifold and a small ihi rhb5 turbo.Thank you guys for your input.I think I'm going to do it.

i wouldnt worry to much about the HP shoot for TQ gains and you will be happier. a nice smooth tq curve is better than a dyno queen. while you are swapping the head might as well do some head studs and cosmetic gasket as well.

Do you mean "Cometic"?(sorta like this HG...http://www.cometic.com/phuzion.aspx) I thought cosmetic gaskets were only there to look pretty ;D
