Average Price for MicroPolishing crank?

What is the average price for MicroPolish for the crank? I am located in California. I only need one journal to be micropolish because it is scruff up pretty bad. The rest of the journals looks pretty descent. You think the machine shop can micropolish only just one journal?

about .50 for the emery cloth and 30 minutes of your time.

A sholelace or small piece of rope also needed.

why dont you just look in the phone book and call around and see what you can find. i had a machine shop that i took all my stuff to and they would polish mine for 20$. so just call around and find what kinda deals there are.

gangster method. however if you want a machine shop to do it I recommend checking out local auto places and see who they recommend.

also this guy will do it for you, but he charges one-hundred million dollars.

does that emery cloth really takes scruffs off the crank journals?

Re: Average Price for MicroPolishing crank?

depending on how bad they are, yes. You need to check your bearing clearances after either way and probably replace the bearings on that journal at least.

I guess not... it is a good thing to do though, promotes oil flow

Re: Average Price for MicroPolishing crank?

damn i really want to bring this extra crankshaft i have to this one local shop here in cali. THey only charged $40 for nitrate, micropolish, rotate and balance, align the crankshaft. Sounds like a good deal. But i just want to see how the crankshaft in the D16z6 looks before i do anything else. Damn, working on the D16z6 when its still on the car is a hassle. But oh wellz...
