automatic to manual transmission?
What all do you have to get and how hard is it to change a 99 honda civic ex with a d16y7 automatic transmissions to a 99 or 2000 honda civic si with a b16a manual transmission?

Re:automatic to manual transmission?
not as hard as you would think it would be, all you have to get is the manual engine/tranny/ecu/wiring harness/pedals/shift linkage and clutch lines. just drop it in and plug it up. you could have it done in about a weekend tops because basicly all your doing is ripping out all the auto ---- and replaceing it.

Re:automatic to manual transmission?
the biggest pain in the ass is gettign all the parts together with bolts and a good tranny.

Re:automatic to manual transmission?
my biggest pain was the clutch lines, but getting all the bolts together was a pain also

--- no diff in the engines besides one has a flexplate and one has a flywheel... which you obviously change in the process. also you need a pilot bearing too, which just taps right into the end of the crank shaft. |
Re:automatic to manual transmission?
cams are usually milder too.

Re:automatic to manual transmission?
the starter is also differant but if your swapping the whole thing that shouldn't be a prob
