auto tranny problems
I have a 95 civic coupe with a d16z6.the problem is that the auto tranny shifts hard and waits till like red line to shift even when driven soft.if u let off the gas the tranny stays in the same gear so its like drivivg a stick shift car on 2 nd gear to redline and then letting off the gas and u get that whoooo sound.the speedometer isnt working either and i changed the speed sensor but nothing.I was wondering if these cars have a sperate speed modulator or box that tells the transmission when to shift because i had a chevy lumina that had this exact problem and i thought it was the tranny but the problem was a box or modulator that tells the tranny when to shift.sorry for the long post but I dont want to change the tranny if the problem is something else.and the car switches from park to all the other gears fine. thanks

Re: auto tranny problems
you're not running a 5 speed ecu by chance are you?

Re: auto tranny problems
I dont think so.its the same ecu that came with the car when i brought it.

Re: auto tranny problems
sounds like the tranny might just be shot then. either that or you have a blown fuse or something shorted out thats ------- up shift points and killing your speedo.

Re: auto tranny problems
i checked the fuses and there fine.I thought the tranny might have been fucked so i got another one but its been so fucken hot that i was hoping it was something else like what i mentioned above because i didnt feel like sweating bullets under the car.its a good thing I keep a few cars ;D cause Im a lazy bastard when it comes to working in the heat. thanks

Re: auto tranny problems
tranny is probably shot, all that torque being put through the shitty transaxle automatic that hondas are probably fucked up alot of stuff.
