auto to manual conversion?
 

Hey guys (and girls) I am new to this message board and thought that I would pick your brains on a few things. Only one at a time though. I recently bought a 95 Civic EX and unfortunately it is an automatic. (Hey I got a really really cheap deal on it) I am buying a b16a2 front clip from Japan that is a manual tranny. I am thinking that it will have all of the parts (linkage, hydrolic hoses, slave and master cylinders) I need to make the swap. Am I crazy, or will this work? Anyone done this conversion? If so please let me know of any other potential problems I might run into, and yes I will be doing all the work. Thanks for all the help I hope to receive. Next question should have something to do with turbo, why not add boost while the motor is being swapped out. Thanks robert95civic

things u will need are
clutch pedal, i have one and am selling it (message me)
flywheel
manual tranny
linkage
shifter
shifter knob
manual ecu,
wiring harness
a manual tran starter
clutch
tranny mounts for a manual
cltuch master
slave cyclinder and the line that goes to them
and i was doing it on my 96 civic so for the 96 and up i beleive u have to get a throttle body and a intake manifold from a mani becuase the ivac is located on different places, i dont think u have to worrie about that, any ?'s just message me

This is using a manual mount to a manual tranny in an auto car. the fram mount sits about 2 inches too high.

It is also offset but more than an inch. You will need a specail mount here from HaSport or whoever to get around this or you can buy the mount on the frame from honda for $30 and weld it on yourself making it so you dont need to buy another $100 mount when you go B-Series.

enjoy.. i am doing this swap now as well, but i am going to weld the correct mount in place.

you cannot convert your car to right hand drive without cutting your car in half. just look at the firewalls, see where the hump is for the brake booster. ;)

The firewall on both cars are waaaay diffrent. you would need to cut alot off the front of hte current car to make the clip work and its is not worth it at all. I know in my state if you do major modifications to a car like that (cut it in half and weld a new clip to the car) you need to take it to the state patroll to check it out to make sure its road worthy or if you get pulled over for that you WILL have your car towed and you WILL have to have it fixed to US standards. There is also a problem with the vin that is located on hte firewall. Just leave your car the way it is and swap the motor in, if you are going B series from the get go and dontwan to weld i would go with the hasport mount, its easier and less time consumeing.

if ya wanted to go right hand drive really bad, it whould be cheaer to have a rhd shell imported prolly
