Auto to 5 speed conversion started
Ok guys i got my auto to 5 speed conversion started. Ive been told that putting the pedals in is the hardest part, now i know why. It took me about 4 hours to get them in but they are together now and im gonna pull the tranny and install a 5 speed sooner or later... BTW this is in an 88 accord LXI

Re:Auto to 5 speed conversion started
doesnt really seem worth it on an 89 accord, but whatever

Re:Auto to 5 speed conversion started
did you burn-up the auto and get a 5- speed for free?

Re:Auto to 5 speed conversion started
Im planning on going turbo with a built engine, the engine is coming somtime this week... With the guys running around (some guy broke into the 10s with a turbo accord) i gotta try this. The auto blew up and i have 1st and 2nd gear, thats it. The 5 speed was given to me, and i paid about $100 for the rest of the parts... The only thing i need to change after the pedals is the rear tranny mount, the drivers side axle (its bad anyway) and install the linkage... the hardest part is done

Re:Auto to 5 speed conversion started
I got it in finally. After the pedals were put in, we put it on the lift and got it together in about 5 hours. I had my honda tech friend help me so that helped alot, and all the parts were the right ones (thank God). The car is much quicker now but its tough to say how much quicker, its been raining for the past day and I cant get traction in 1st or 2nd... just spinning tires.

Re:Auto to 5 speed conversion started
Good job man, I've always thought doing a auto-manual swap would be kind of a bitch.

Re:Auto to 5 speed conversion started
i did mine and it wasn't too hard, the only bitch was the IACV that was differant.
