ARP Headstuds re-torque and Re-Use
DOHC ZC with VW ARP Headstuds.
How many times can I re-use then and what should the torque be.
I ask because I installed them when my HG went, now the motor is built, but I put a Stock HG in before I re-searched and ordered a HKS MLS HG. I want to break in the motor with the stock HG, then put the HKS HG in.
So that's the story, It will be the 3rd time Re-Using them. I know you can re-use then, but how many times?

I've reused mine 6 times so far. I'm not seeing anyproblems. But I also am not measuring them or doing any sorta special tests to see how much weaker they are. But as of now they are still holding.
And mine are torqued to 95ft/lbs, but mine are on a completely different motor.

Ive reused single cam arp's six times without any problem and my srt4/pt cruizer arps for my zc have been used three times now. Just stick with what arp says for torque specs, one will be with engine oil and the other is with the moly lube arp's come with.
Cool Thanks.
Why would I break in with the Stock HG and then switch?
Because the motor has been fully assemble since July sitting waiting to be started. Never had time. No it is about 3hrs worth of work away from being cranked over. I'm not going to wait 1week for the HKS one to come in and then spend an extra 3hours swapping when the car is getting broken in and then parked for the winter months and having the Manifold, Roll Cage and all other crap fabbed for it.
