Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
I been thinking about using them only becuase my stock ones in the rear are ----.
Im wondering if they are all the same, civic/acura ones. I only ask cause the rear trailing arms are from a 92 GSR with ABS. However i dont think it should be different. here is a pic https://static.summitracing.com/glob...ns-167106r.jpg im thinking bout purchasing them from summit and i thinkg Jegs has em too. Ill see who has em cheaper. DO any of you have em? how do you like em? |

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
Are you just wanting the rear trailing arms, or the whole master kit?
I ask because if you are getting the master kit it does not include the rear trailing are bushings, just control arms. If you are just getting the trailing arm bushing, order the rear trailing arm bushing from the GSR. If you are using the lower control arms from the GSR they are probably different. I have 91 Interga disc with the lower control arms and they use a larger bushing. I ended up buying just the rear set As well as the qhole master set from my 90 hatch. I just window welded the ones on my trailing arms just like you do to motor mounts. |

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
I also used window weld on my trailing arm mounts.

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
My trailing arms are not on my car yet so that made it easy to do the job and helped it dry better. I'm still running drums and will swap to disc maybe by spring.

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
you use big washers and some bolts to 'tighten' the bushings in. you also might wana check out this sight about the trailing arm bushings

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
i have half of them installed on my hatch, you dont need a press or the bolts and washers to put them in, use a torch to melt the rubber, a sawz-all to cut out the shells, then beat them bitches in with a hammer and a piece of wood.
to make them slide in easier take a wire brush to everything. |
Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
If you're a super lazy ---- such as myself, could you pull off the window weld trick while the trailing arm is still on the car?
My bushings are shot to ----, so id have to rig up some 2x4's or something to keep the bushing centered while it was curing, but i figure it'll work out okay. |
Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
I don't know about window welding it while it on the car. But when i did mines it wasn't on my car.
It might not dry right while it's on the car. But it depends on the weather where ur at i suppose. |

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
energy= Teh SuX
Prothane > Energy |
Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
From what I heard
Prothane=STIFF AS ----, BOUNCY RIDE, GREAT FOR THE TRACK Energy=Stiffer then stock, Softer then Prothane, still an allright ride, last longer then OEM |

Re:Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
i`ve worked on a few car with these aftermarket bushings.
it is a BITCH to work on them since all the arms are "tightned" together and doens`t want to move. >:( |
Re: Anyone use the Energy suspension Bushing kits?
I've got some ES bushings ready to install on my car, they seem to be of high quality.

I have Energy Suspension poly bushings. I installed the rear trailing arm bushings in my 93 4door civic and used the 2 large washer and bolt trick. Id buy the energy suspension trailing arm bushings again, they work great. I have the master kit on my 93 4door, its a good quality kit and does tighten the ride up on an old civic like mine. Some bushings are little tricky to install unless you're creative witha hacksaw, torch and knife, or have a shop press. The rear trailing arm bushings where easy to install, Pass a long bolt through a large washer, and pass that through the bushing. pass the end of the bolt through the trailing arm, and through another large washer on the other side that is bigger than the hole trailing arm. put a nut on the end of the bolt and tighten it up. it pulls the bushing right into the trailing arm and thats it. now hammer in that hollow pin that you cut/burned out and make sure its oriented correctly b/c it only works one way as far as i remember.
