anyone have a/c removal instructions?

i wish to safely remove the air conditioning components from my 96 civic. safely being the operative word, i do want to keep it in re-usable shape when i remove it so if i ever resell my car i don't have to buy new a/c.

well part of this depends if you are environmentally-concious or not...if you are, pay to get it emptied, if not, push in the pin and let the r134 fly (put something over it so you dont catch it in the face....after that, just unbolt it all and dont break it, lol (gotta pull the battery out to get the last pieces off)

oh, hmm. well i'm not terribly concerned about the environment... or the pieces behind the battery, i'm concerned mainly with the piping in front of the engine, the compressor, and the condensor.
everything else can be left so re-installation is made easy..

Don't worry about it, just tune a little rich so you get some more O3 out the tailpipe. I think all the HMT guys should tune a little richer this month to keep the world's supply of atmosphere built up and maybe save some motors on the way.

you sure it's not your water pump?

Re:anyone have a/c removal instructions?

No.There is a little cylinder that sits right behind the left head light by the reservoir for the hood squirters.I can get the vibration to lessen by moving it around withought unbolting it.I had put a piece of cardboard between it and the frame and it went away but it fell out on the freeway.I can see where it is rubbing and since its alluminum Im afraid it is going to wear a hole in it.

just wack it with a hammer and saw the tubes in half, when it comes down to selling the car duck tape all the pieces back into place. ;D

Re:anyone have a/c removal instructions?

Don't be a dick, get it drained. Then take everyting off. Oh and cap the ends of all the piping/hoses (or use duct tape). Supposedly if anything gets in there it'll mess it up and won't work when you reinstall it later.
